National Extension Conference
on Volunteers

Welcome!

Volunteers: Our "Extension" of Community is the theme for the 2007 National Extension Conference on Volunteerism. Community is more than a physical place.  Community can be a neighborhood or a group of people with a common interest or challenge.  It could be Master Gardeners responding to the needs of local citizens or gardeners trying to make their vegetables thrive.  Or maybe community is a 4-H Club Volunteers helping youth to belong to something bigger than themselves or youth needing guidance and support.  There are many faces of community. Within Cooperative Extension, community is extended, community is brightened, and community is strengthened by the engagement of volunteers.

The Conference has been developed to provide an outstanding educational and developmental opportunity for all Extension staff concerned with Volunteers and Community and Leadership Development.
